Hailsham Swimming Club is a friendly, family orientated club serving Hailsham and its surrounding area. Formed in 1989, and is still going strong to this day, providing a safe environment in which the teachers can develop the swimmers up to a competitive standard.

The club aims to become a top competitive squad within the County, providing opportunities for all our swimmers to excel at County, Regional and National level. We continually develop teaching and coaching skills, providing swimmers of all abilities the opportunity to compete or undertake swimming as a sociable leisure activity The top competitive section of the swimming club is known as Hailsham Performance Swimming Squad and the teaching squads are known as Hailsham Hornets.

ASA Summer Nationals
ASA Summer Nationals 2016 Sam and Milly
Milly Widdop (13) and Sam Avery (16) qualified for the 2016 ASA Summer National Swimming Championships, held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield during the first week of August.  Milly competed in the 100m Breaststroke event. A fantastic  heat swim and new personal best time (1.17.64) secured her a place in the event final, in which she finished 7th. Sam performed a superb sprint in the 50m Backstroke event. He recorded a great race time of 29.37, in what was an extremely close heat. Sam finished in 14th place overall in the 16 years age group category. Milly concluded Hailsham’s participation at the championships with a determined 50m Breaststroke sprint,  recording a new best race time of 35.83, which saw her finish in 12th place. 

Swim Wales Summer Open Meet

Daisy Crook (10) successfully gained entry into multiple events at the Swim Wales Summer Open Meet, held at Wales National Pool in Swansea.  She got off to a flying start at this national level event, recording a new personal best time (1.23.68) in the 100m Freestyle to achieve a 12th place ranking. Daisy’s top form continued as she secured 7th place in 200m IM, 8th  in 200m Freestyle and 9th in 100m Breaststroke.  A brilliant 100m Backstroke performance topped off her visit to Swansea as she brought home the event gold in a time of 1.25.13.
