Health and Safety Policy
When participating in a training session, gala or any other activity organised by Hailsham Swimming Club please note that:
YOU ARE EXPECTED:- To accept personal responsibility for the safety of yourself and others.
- To make yourself familiar with the area of the premises being used including the location of the fire exits
- To observe all safety notices
- To observe safety standards appropriate to the activity, and the wellbeing of yourself
- and others.
- To listen to warnings from poolside staff, lifeguards, and HSC officials.
- To ask for advice when warnings are not understood correctly.
- To not use, or wilfully misuse, neglect, damage or interfere with anything provided for
- safety.
- To keep all exits and access clear and free of obstruction at all times.
- To notify the club of any medical conditions and when a change to the condition changes.
EMERGENCY ACTION
- If you discover a fire, alert a member of staff telling them where it is and push the nearest fire alarm.
- In the event of a fire (at Hailsham leisure centre)- follow the instructions given by the members of staff.
- DO NOT panic.
- DO NOT collect any personal belongings.
- Leave
the building by the nearest fire exit and make you way in a calm manor
to the fire assembly put which is at the top of the car park by the bus
shelter.
- In the event of a fire (at St.
Bedes)- all swimmers, and coaches to line up along the glass doors over
the far side of the pool, waiting to be advised to leave by the fire
door. Parents/spectators leave through the main entrance.
- Everyone is to report to the assembly point, which is the car park outside the main sports hall entrance.
- In
the event of an accident or injury- report the incident to a club
official or member of staff immediately. Make sure that details are
recorded in the accident book.
