Poolside Etiquette

Good poolside etiquette makes a safe environment for everyone. It reflects well on yourself and the club and encourages better performances

  • All swimmers who are chosen to take part in galas, are entered in open meets, competitions and the club championships, are reminded that poolside etiquette is very important and should be carried out through the time of which they are in the building to the time in which they leave.
  • When on poolside at any given time if a swimmer needs to leave the poolside whether it is to see a parent or go to the toilet a teacher/coach or a poolside helper must be told.
  • REMEMBER teachers/coaches and parents give up their own time, not only in the week but at weekends as well, to enable the time to teach and help out on poolside at galas and competitions.
  • Silly behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes pushing and shoving on poolside, squirting water, splashing people, etc. All of this behaviour can be very dangerous. People caught continuously doing so may be asked to leave the poolside by an event official or teacher/coach on poolside.
